Frequently asked questions about photography:
What’s included in a
photography package?
There is only one photography package, and just about everything you can imagine
is included! After the sitting for the members of your family at your home or even a nearby park, your
photos will be closely evaluated for any artistic qualities that can be drawn out from them. The results
will be posted to a website for you to see, and you’ll get a CD, too! Tell me which ones you would
like printed for framing -- up to the equivalent of 8 8x10’s, and I’ll send them out to you. The
cost is $449 ($488.29 after tax) including all the digital enhancements, CD of all the photos and the prints!
Need more prints? Sure thing! Either print them yourself wherever you like, or
I’ll place your order for you. I like Delaware Camera, and they charge $3.99 for an 8x10.
Can I get Holiday cards, invitations, or birth announcements instead of prints?
You
bet! You will still get the same artistic touches, and a full family shoot, but instead of prints, you
can choose 50 large glossy cards. If you need more, order them at my cost – usually around a dollar
or two each depending on the specials being offered. I can tell you the exact price before you place your
order. Of course you can still order prints! Either take the CD to your favorite printer
like Delaware Camera, or tell me which prints you’d like, and I’ll place your order for you.
For birth announcements, photos taken within the first week or two will capture the newborn curl position of your baby
best. If you put me on notice, I’ll even come out to your hospital room when the baby arrives!
How do I prepare for a photo shoot?
The best way to get ready for your shoot is to have everyone involved relaxed, comfortable
and not rushed. Consider having someone extra come by, like a friend or relative, to lend a hand.
For clothing, men and boys look best wearing a collar, like a polo or button down shirt. Women and
girls should think simple. Skirts or dresses are nice, but feeling comfortable is much more important,
and many photos will be from the waist up. Babies are best naked or with the simplest of one-piece outfits.
Shoes, all around, are optional. The focus of the pictures will be on the people and the relationships
between them, not the clothing.
How do I schedule a photo shoot and how long until I get my
photos?
Call me at 704-4817.
Or you can e-mail me at kerri.nowak@roadrunner.com
I am available on weekend mornings when everyone can usually get together. Photo shoots
take an hour, more-or-less. You’ll be able to see your photos online in about a week.
Let me know if you have time constraints, and I’ll do my best to get your proofs to you within your time frame.
Prints take a couple days, and cards take about a week or so to arrive once the order is placed.
Frequently asked questions about murals:
How do I decide on a design for a mural?
Whether you have an idea of what you might like or not, e-mail me at kerri.nowak@roadrunner.com.
We can correspond back and forth to help you gather ideas. If you’d like, I can come out to
your home to talk about the design, take “before” pictures, and give you a firm estimate of the cost.
An in-home consultation is $50, but $25 is applied toward the mural.
How much does a mural cost?
Murals begin at $500. That includes about one wall of scenery or one
large image. A $500 mural is plenty of “wow” for an average sized room. Larger
rooms will need about $750 to get that “wow” effect. A full surround “this is amazing!”
mural will run about $2000.
How do I prepare for a mural?
The walls will need to be painted the color you wish to have in
the background of your mural. I can advise you on a color choice if you need help. I
also have a good, local painter who does a nice job if you’d like to contact him for an estimate. Furniture
should be moved away from the wall or walls that will be painted.
Can
you design a mural that would be suitable for my new baby, boy or girl?
Sure thing! There are many, many ideas that would work for either a
boy or a girl. I can match or compliment your bedding, or even design a mural around your favorite vacation
spot! Consider adding a special saying or quote to make your mural even more special!
How do I schedule a mural?
Just like the photos, I’m a one-woman show. You can either e-mail me at kerri.nowak@roadrunner.com or call me at 704-4817.
